ONLINE EDUCATIONAL PROJECT “Let’s study Islam in Romanian languages”

Description

The “Let’s study Islam” course from the Center for Islamic Studies is an online education method that was launched for the first time in 2009 and is addressed to all Romanian speakers all over the world and especially to those from Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Thus, every year, 30 students have the opportunity to study Islam in an organized and practical way.

The duration of this course is 8 (eight) months, respectively two semesters. During these, 8 subjects of 16 courses each are taught. At the end of each semester, an online examination will take place. The graduate of the course will receive a Graduation Diploma issued by the Association of Muslims in Romania.

Why this project?

– Lack of Islamic education on a national level.

– The low level of religious education within the Muslim community and especially among converted to Islam.

– The lack of teachers and educators of the Muslim religion in most cities, with the exception of the city of Constanța.

– The impossibility of completing this course in a specific place and time due to distance and time.

– The great desire of those converted to Islam to propagate the truth about Islam.

– The obligation to know the basic principles of Islam (reading the Qur’an, prayer, fasting, faith) for every Muslim.

– The existence of a phenomenon of radicalization of those recently converted through the Internet.

Project objectives:

– Better knowledge of the Islamic religion – the religion of mercy, balance and peace.

– Increasing the level of Islamic education within the Muslim community.

– Formation and development of the Muslim personality of the recently converted.

– The integration of converted Muslims within the Muslim community in Romania so that they can avoid radical ideas.

– Obtaining the pleasure of Allah Most High both in this life and in the Hereafter by learning His religion.

Course subjects and subject presentation:

1) Reciting the Quran in Arabic 1. In this subject, the student will learn the letters of the Arabic alphabet and learn to read in Arabic, respectively from the Qur’an.

2) Jurisprudence 1. In this subject, the student will learn about the four schools of jurisprudence and learn how to perform ablution, respectively the daily prayer, taking into account the practices of minority communities.

3) The Islamic creed (Aqidah). In this subject, the learner will acquire the basic elements of the Islamic faith, such as the belief in Allah, the Prophets, the Angels, the Divine Books and the Last Day. He will also learn about the effects that creed has on a Muslim’s life.

4) The Life of the Prophet Muhammed. The purpose of this subject is to give the Muslim a background about the life of the Prophet of Islam – Muhammed (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Moreover, knowing the life of the Prophet of Islam is extremely important for a Muslim because the Prophet is a role model for every Muslim.

5) Recitation of the Qur’an in Arabic 2. This is a continuation of the Qur’an Recitation 1 subject where the student will deepen the special rules of pronunciation and recitation of the Qur’an (tajweed).

6) Islamic Jurisprudence 2. This subject is the continuation of the subject Jurisprudence 1 where the student will learn how to perform the other rites of worship (Fasting, Zakat, Hajj) according to the four schools of jurisprudence, taking into account the practices of minority communities.

7) The science of the Qur’an and its role in the interpretation of the Qur’an (Tefsir). In this subject, the student will acquire the most important particularities of the Qur’an, the history of the writing and compilation of the Qur’an and will step into the world of exegesis and interpretation of the Qur’an.

8) The science of Hadith and its role in the understanding of Islam, respectively the Qur’an. In this subject, the student will know the types of prophetic narrations from the point of view of authenticity and will learn what is meant by authentic hadith.

Teacher studies:

The teachers are Romanian citizens, graduates of Muslim theology faculties from different countries (Jordan/Turkey/France) who have the moral and religious conviction and obligation to pass on what they have learned to those who did not have the opportunity to study Islam in an institution of education.

Exams:

They will be held online, via the Internet.

The exam will be scored as follows:

– 70% of the grade will be awarded following the online assessment

– 30% of the grade will be awarded for participation in courses/referrals

The courses will be held through an online “virtual class” platform (ZOOM).
